Leadership Institute
We are particularly proud of our partnership with The Leadership Institute, a conservative training institution based in Washington DC. Established 1979, graduates of their programs are providing conservatives of all ages with the skills necessary to succeed in politics, government, and the media.
A new annual keynote address in honour of Sir Charles Court was launched in 2019. The inaugural address was delivered by the Director of International Training at The Leadership Institute, Ron Nehring - a Republican strategist and communications expert who served as National Spokesperson and Senior Political Strategist to the 2016 Presidential campaign of Senator Ted Cruz.
In a global environment where conservative values are under attack, it was fitting to hear how leaders were advancing shared principles of effective and limited government, individual liberty and freedom in the United States, Australia and around the world.
The event heralded the Foundation’s sponsorship of a series of workshops led by Ron Nehring and a delegation of senior Leadership Institute faculty members. With individuals training sessions focused on developing the skills and capacity of conservatives to participate in the public policy making process by increasing the number of activists with campaigning, grassroots organising, research, policy and communications skills.
Numerous conservatives, candidates and parliamentarians attended the intensive workshops. Many more will benefit in the future with the development of new online and classroom training with graduates awarded certificates recognising the Foundation on-going support.
As the Board looks to the future, we look forward to strengthening our legion of alumni and raising funds to support the future prosperity of the Foundation, in conjunction with the Liberal Party.

SCCF & Leadership Institute
In October 2019, the Sir Charles Court Foundation received a request from the Liberal Party for sponsorship of six senior faculty members from the Washington DC based Leadership Institute to conduct a candidate and campaign training programme which included intensive workshops on leadership, campaigning and communications.
The Leadership Institute’s International Director and his team worked with then State Director, Sam Calabrese, State President, Fay Duda and SCCF Director, Victoria Jackson to deliver the programme which took place over 3 1/2 days. A SCCF welcome event was held at UWA with 80 people attending an introductory address, panel session and welcome event. A total of 130 members took part in the workshops with all participants receiving a Certificate of Completion. Of these 30 members stood as candidates in the 2021 State election.
A similar event was planned for 2020 but due to COVID restrictions, we are still waiting on an opportunity to host further workshops with the Leadership Institute.
